Every sofa is different — wool felt, linen, cotton, velvet, faux suede, synthetic weaves all need different chemistry and moisture levels. We identify the fabric first, then clean with a low-moisture method built to lift dirt, oils and stains without the colour bleed, shrinkage or watermarking a wrong approach can leave behind.
Why we check the fabric before we touch it.
A sofa isn't a carpet — different fibres react completely differently to heat, moisture and chemistry. Wool felt and linen hold water and can watermark or shrink if over-wetted. Velvet can crush or change pile direction under the wrong equipment. Faux suede can stiffen or streak. Synthetic weaves are generally more forgiving but still vary between manufacturers.
We identify what we're working with first, then choose the right product and moisture level for that specific fabric — testing in a hidden area first whenever there's any doubt. The aim is the same as every job we do: a proper clean, done safely, no nasty surprises afterwards.
How we actually clean it.
Low-moisture extraction, matched to the fabric — enough to properly lift dirt, body oils and stains out of the weave, not so much that it soaks through to the frame and padding underneath. Stubborn marks get pre-treated individually before the full clean.
Family-safe, pet-safe products throughout — the same three options we use on carpets: standard (barely-noticeable scent), fragrance-free, or 100% plant-based, at no extra cost. Tell us your preference when you book.
Cushions, arms and frame are all included in the price for the seat count you book — we don't charge extra to do the job properly.

Where the limits are — honestly.
Most sofa and upholstery jobs come up beautifully. A few things are worth knowing upfront: very old set-in stains, some dyes, and certain heavily degraded fabrics may not fully restore to like-new — we'll always tell you honestly what we think is achievable before starting, not after.
As with any upholstery work, no guarantees on 100% stain removal — we'll be straight with you before we start.
