FamilySafe Carpet Cleaning ("we", "us") is a sole trader run by Chris Tomlinson, based in Higher Bebington, Wirral. This page explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and your rights under UK GDPR.

What we collect

We only collect data you give us directly:

  • Quote form / contact: your name, phone number, email, address, postcode, and any notes you add about the job.
  • Phone, SMS, WhatsApp, or email enquiries: whatever you tell us in the message.
  • Analytics: anonymous page-view counts via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cookies, no personal identifiers, no cross-site tracking — your IP is hashed and discarded.

Why we collect it

  • To prepare and send you a quote.
  • To arrange a booking and turn up on the right day at the right address.
  • To follow up about the job (e.g. confirm a time, ask about access).
  • To understand which pages on the site people read most, so we can improve them.

Who we share it with

Nobody. Your details are not sold, traded, or shared with third parties for marketing. The only places your data goes:

  • Our quote email system (a Cloudflare Worker that sends your quote to your inbox using Resend).
  • Our own email inbox (so we can reply to you).

How long we keep it

  • Quote enquiries: up to 12 months after our last contact with you, then deleted.
  • Completed-job records: 6 years (required for accounting / HMRC purposes).
  • Analytics: aggregated indefinitely; no individual identification possible.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us at any time to:

  • Tell you what data we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that's wrong.
  • Delete it (subject to the 6-year HMRC retention above for completed jobs).
  • Stop processing it.
  • Object to anything we're doing with it.

Cookies & tracking

We do not use tracking cookies. The only browser storage we set is a small flag to remember if you've dismissed the privacy notice or the offer banner — strictly UI state, no data sent anywhere.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
